The iSaloni 2026 exhibition spotlights brands and professionals recognized in the first edition, while reinforcing the invitation: entries for the 2nd Award are open through June 3
Having a piece exhibited at Salone del Mobile.Milano can still feel like a distant goal for many. In 2026, however, that goal becomes a reality with the exhibition of the winning projects and special recognitions from the 1st Brazilian Furniture Design Award, on display in Pavilion 03 at iSaloni. More than simply taking part in the industry’s leading global showcase, the initiative demonstrates that this path can be real for manufacturers, designers, architects, studios, workshops, students, and emerging talents from different regions and of different sizes across Brazil.
The flagship event of Milan Design Week in Italy, iSaloni reaches its 64th edition from April 21 to 26, 2026. Brazil returns to the event through actions led by the Brazilian Furniture Sector Project, an initiative of ABIMÓVEL (Brazilian Furniture Industry Association) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), which this year brings together a delegation of around 70 brands, designers, and creatives.
Under the theme “Connections,” Brazil’s presence is organized around three complementary fronts, helping convey how the country has been positioning itself in both domestic and international markets: through the manufacturing strength of its brands; the connection between industry and design; and the recognition of talents, repertoires, and ideas that have been renewing the sector.
“1st Brazilian Furniture Design Award” Exhibition
One of these fronts is the Exhibition of the Winning Pieces from the 1st Brazilian Furniture Design Award. Launched in 2024, the award is organized by ABIMÓVEL, with ApexBrasil and Sebrae (Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service) as co-organizers, bringing together projects that combine creativity, harmony, production and economic feasibility, identity, sustainability, and innovation.
Beyond awarding pieces and highlighting the work of Brazilian brands and professionals, the initiative recognizes ways of thinking and making that reaffirm the role of design in industry—not only as an aesthetic expression, but as intelligence applied to materials, use, construction systems, and the very meaning of living in a changing world.
With this in mind, the Brazilian Furniture Design Award was created to give visibility to the plurality of Brazilian production, encompassing everyone from large companies to studios and students across categories that reflect different scales and ways of operating in the sector.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the ESG agenda, the selected pieces—chosen from more than 500 entries—highlight production capacity, material diversity, technical inventiveness, and socio-environmental responsibility in projects that respond to the needs of contemporary living while also pointing to new paths for the future.
Presented in October 2025, during the 12th National Furniture Congress in Brazil, the standout projects from the first edition now gain international visibility at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026, taking to Italy an expressive cross-section of what currently distinguishes Brazilian design. The exhibition is part of an event featuring more than 1,900 exhibitors and 169,000 square meters of exhibition space, welcoming visitors from every continent.
Entries for the 2nd edition are open through June 3
If the presence in Milan gives visibility to the highlights of the first edition, it also helps shine a light on what is taking shape now, with new creations and solutions under development. Entries for the 2nd Brazilian Furniture Design Award are open through June 3, 2026, and the winners will have their pieces exhibited at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2027.
The new edition expands this movement with the inclusion and refinement of its categories, engaging even more directly with the diversity, complexity, and current stage of Brazilian production. They are:
Serial Production Furniture
Focused on products designed for industrial-scale manufacturing, where design, engineering, cost, and repeatability must work together with quality and consistency.
Artisanal Furniture
For original pieces, handcrafted processes, and solutions that preserve and update techniques while valuing material culture, finish, and detail.
Bioeconomy Design
Focused on creations that incorporate renewable materials, reuse, local supply chains, circularity, and ESG criteria applied to the product.
Manufacturing Excellence
Recognizing companies and projects that demonstrate process mastery, construction precision, finishing standards, reliability, and manufacturing maturity.
Innovation in Furniture Design
For proposals that advance materials, technologies, processes, construction systems, or user experience, with clarity of application.
Corporate Furniture
A new category in this edition, aimed at solutions for institutional and collective environments—workplaces, education, hospitality, and services—with a focus on performance, ergonomics, and durability.
Creative Potential in Furniture Design
Created especially for students and young professionals, recognizing concept, originality, and the quality of the proposal, with well-argued technical feasibility.
By updating its structure, the award reinforces its commitment to an increasingly broad and precise reading of the sector, encompassing different profiles, production scales, and design languages. At the same time, it reaffirms design as a strategic driver of differentiation, competitiveness, and value creation.
For manufacturers, professionals, and students across all regions of the country, the Brazilian Furniture Design Award aims not only to identify and recognize strong projects, but also to place them on the global radar—bringing their creations, names, and brands to the world.
The regulations and the link to the entry form are available on the award’s official landing page.
