The Brazilian Furniture Project welcomes the international press in New York

Organizers of the Brazilian Furniture Sectoral Project are preparing a special event through the Image Project to welcome journalists and influencers from the United States and other important countries in North America at “Espaço Brasil in NY’, an exclusive exhibition to be held in November 11 and 14 at a showroom located in SoHo, one of the New York’s top design districts.

Promoting and presenting the brands, their products and the Brazilian furniture design to the world through the reception and integration of renowned opinion makers from different regions and media channels, the Image Project, part of the scope of the Brazilian Furniture Project, focuses on the importance and consolidation of the image and the brand positioning of the Brazilian companies on a global scale, with an agenda that includes visits to the Brazilian exhibitions, business roundtables and a reception with authorities and industry professionals.

An initiative of ABIMÓVEL – The Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association and Apex-Brasil – The Brazilian Exports and Investment Promotion Agency, the Brazilian Furniture Project focuses on increasing the competitiveness and the internationalization of the Brazilian furniture sector around the world.

Continuing the journey to the resumption of major events in the furniture calendar to the face-to-face format, after highly relevant actions at High Point Market, also in the United States, and at the Milan Design Week, in Italy, in the month of November the project is heading to one of the most vibrant and creative places on the planet, taking more than 20 companies and several Brazilian designers to New York.

Three Brazilian brands on display at ICFF New York 2021

Considered the largest platform in North America to showcase contemporary furniture design, three Brazilian companies associated with the Brazilian Furniture Project participate in the next edition of ICFF – The International Contemporary Furniture Fair, which takes place on November 14 and 15, 2021.

Ornare

Recognized as one of the most sophisticated Brazilian brands in the high-end furniture sector, Ornare’s mission is to unify values such as luxury, design, architecture and aesthetics. Points that sum up very well what will be presented in this special edition of the ICFF.

Founded 35 years ago, Ornare’s production is focused on bespoke furniture for the kitchen, bathroom, home theater and closet. Since 2006, the brand has had showrooms in the American cities of Miami, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and New York. This year, the company also opened new units in the Hamptons and will soon have another showroom in NY, in the Brooklyn area, and in Connecticut. Ornare is also launching their first address in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, which is scheduled to open doors in the coming months.

Tidelli

An expert in the development of outdoor living furniture, Tidelli presents pieces in line with the newest trends for the redefinition of our homes, which become increasingly multifunctional, highlighting our need to rethink about spaces to work, study, rest and have fun, sometimes all at the same time and in the same place.

Currently, the company has 17 exclusive stores in Brazil and two in California (USA). The brand is also displayed in 18 multi-brands stores in Brazil and in the United States, in addition to Panama, Mexico and Uruguay. The company also has a distributor in Norway.

Uultis is a high-end furniture brand that matches their Brazilian design and soul with an internationally recognized quality. Espaço Brasil NY 

Making the most of the ICFF occasion, ABIMÓVEL and Apex-Brasil will also organize the “Espaço Brasil in NY”. The event, which will be conceived as an exhibition, occupies an area of ​​200 m² in SoHo, one of the main design districts in the city.

Following the concept presented at the Fuorisalone 2021 circuit, with the exhibition “Brazil – Design in Motion”, which caught the attention of the public at the Milan Design Week, the space is signed by the Moreira do Valle office, which is also responsible for the curatorship and selection of the pieces.

The goal is to transform the location into Brazil’s home in New York between November 11 and 14, aiming to facilitate and optimize the relationship of Brazilian companies and designers with the global market, especially North-American buyers, and the international press. Thus, highlighting the authenticity of our industry and professionals, as well as wood and other typically Brazilian raw materials, with the exhibition of more than 40 pieces from at least 20 companies, in addition to several designers linked to Brazil Design + Industry.

Name given to the program that connects manufacturers and designers in the furniture field through the Brazilian Furniture Project, Brazil Design + Industry aims to unite the creative potential of design professionals with the productive capacity of furniture factories to create increasingly original, attractive, high-end, sustainable, high-quality and functional furniture and solutions that are accessible to the national and international market.

Trade Mission

In addition to the exhibition, Espaço Brasil in NY will also stage a Trade Mission including business roundtables in a hybrid format, on-site and virtual meetings, between Brazilian companies and about 20 international buyers from the United States and Canada, target markets for the Brazilian Furniture Project.

It is noteworthy, in fact, that the United States is the main importer of Brazilian furniture in the world, receiving around 35% of national exports in the sector, and there is still much more room for business expansion.

 

Image Project

From 5 pm (local time) on November 13, professionals from the North American press will be welcomed by members of the Consulate of Brazil in New York, alongside the Brazilian Furniture Project organizers and the Brazilian exhibitors.

On the occasion, besides interacting and exchanging valuable insights about the world of furniture, architecture, design and decoration, these communicators and influencers will also be able to learn about new products, as well as having access to originally Brazilian raw materials, techniques and sustainability concepts, receiving a synthesis of the best of what the country has to offer in terms of contemporary furniture.

 

Brazilian Furniture Sectoral Project

ABIMÓVEL – The Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association has been operating for over three decades with the commitment to defend and strengthen the furniture sector and the national industry. In partnership with Apex-Brasil – The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, the entity leads the Brazilian Furniture Sectoral Project, aiming to promote the competitiveness of the Brazilian brands and design in the international market through strategic actions, such as trade missions and the participation in major events in the sector.

This year, the entities were responsible for outstanding actions at the Milan Design Week, celebrating the largest participation of Brazilian companies and professionals in both the Salone del Mobile.Milano, this year called “supersalone”, with the presence of 10 Brazilian brands associated with the project; and at Fuorisalone, in which 42 Brazilian brands and designers from different areas, 20 of which are also companies and professionals in the furniture sector, participated in the “Brazil – Design in Motion” exhibition, as part of the programming of the “INTERNI – Creative Connections” exhibition ”.
