Buyer Project connects Brazilian suppliers with global importers at Fimma 2025

Initiative led by ABIMÓVEL, in partnership with ApexBrasil, promotes business matchmaking between Brazilian manufacturers and international buyers during the trade fair

Brazil’s furniture industry continues to strengthen its footprint in global markets—not only through its high-quality, innovative, and original finished products, but also through an increasingly integrated value chain, spanning raw materials, industrial automation, design, and sustainability. This systemic and solution-oriented vision will be front and center at the upcoming edition of the Buyer Project during Fimma Brasil 2025 – International Fair for Suppliers of the Wood and Furniture Production Chain, taking place from August 4 to 7 in Bento Gonçalves (Rio Grande do Sul), Brazil.

Organized by ABIMÓVEL (Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), the Buyer Project is one of the key initiatives of the Brazilian Furniture Project. It promotes in-person business matchmaking in Brazil, connecting local companies with international buyers selected based on technical criteria, commercial interests, and partnership potential.

At Fimma, the project takes on a new dimension by focusing on the internationalization of the supply industry, encompassing manufacturers of components, machinery, equipment, and other industrial solutions for the furniture sector. As one of the most important platforms for this segment in Latin America, Fimma provides a strategic environment for market prospecting, enabling global buyers to experience firsthand the production capacity, innovation, and reliability of Brazilian suppliers in delivering comprehensive, customized solutions.

In this edition, the Buyer Project welcomes 10 importers from eight countries: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay.

“Brazil has shown remarkable industrial maturity and the ability to meet diverse demands across the furniture production chain worldwide. Bringing the Buyer Project to Fimma reinforces this positioning by connecting what we do best—from raw materials and technology to inputs and machinery—with international markets that seek precisely that: trust, scalability, efficiency, socio-environmental responsibility, and innovation,” says Irineu Munhoz, President of ABIMÓVEL.

The initiative is part of a broader international strategy that includes branding, training, sustainability programs, business missions, and participation in the world’s leading trade fairs—all aimed at fostering long-term growth.

Brazilian Furniture Project

The Brazilian Furniture Project is a sectoral initiative by ABIMÓVEL in partnership with ApexBrasil. Its goal is to expand the international presence of Brazil’s furniture industry through a strategic set of actions grounded in sustainability, competitiveness, and design integration. Currently, around 175 companies are engaged in the project.

In 2024, Brazil ranked as the sixth-largest furniture and mattress producer in the world and the 26th largest exporter, generating over US$ 763.02 million in revenue from finished products — a 3.8% increase compared to 2023. Including parts for furniture manufacturing, the total reached US$ 870.20 million.

In this new cycle (2025–2026), the organizers invite not only furniture manufacturers and designers, but also suppliers and component producers to join the project, further amplifying the reach of Brazilian furniture and reinforcing the global competitiveness of the “Brazil” brand.
