Led by ABIMÓVEL and ApexBrasil, the Brazilian delegation brought together more than 70 brands and creative professionals, generated 3,072 business contacts and showcased the breadth of Brazil’s furniture industry and design ecosystem in one of the event’s largest international exhibition areas
Business opportunities, new partnerships and increased global visibility marked Brazil’s participation at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026, held April 21–26 in Milan. Organized through the Brazilian Furniture Project — an initiative led by ABIMÓVEL (Brazilian Furniture Industry Association), in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) — the delegation brought together more than 70 brands and creative professionals and generated approximately US$107.7 million in immediate and projected business.
The consolidated results cover two main initiatives: the participation of Brazilian Exhibiting Companies and the Design + Industry Showcase. Together, they generated 3,072 contacts, approximately 72% of which were new business connections. Deals closed during the event totaled nearly US$16 million, while opportunities expected to be converted over the following 12 months reached more than US$91.7 million.
Brazil’s presence extended across several areas of the trade show. In addition to the Brazil Pavilion — home to the Brazilian Exhibitors, the Design + Industry Showcase, an exhibition featuring highlights from the inaugural Brazilian Furniture Design Award and the Brazil Lounge — national brands also participated in EuroCucina and the International Bathroom Exhibition.
Together, these initiatives presented an industry that combines original design, manufacturing scale, technological development, creative expertise, material diversity and technical know-how. They also highlighted Brazilian solutions related to sustainability, innovation and higher value-added production.
Brazil Pavilion ranks among the event’s largest international exhibition areas
Recognized as one of the world’s leading design platforms and furniture trade shows, Salone del Mobile.Milano brings together manufacturers, buyers, architects, designers, specifiers, distributors, retailers, specialized media, opinion leaders and industry professionals from every continent.
In 2026, the event welcomed more than 316,300 visitors from 167 countries and featured 1,900 brands representing 32 nationalities. International visitors accounted for 68% of trade attendance, underscoring the show’s global reach.
Against this backdrop, the Brazil Pavilion ranked among the largest international exhibition areas at the 64th edition of Salone del Mobile.Milano. Built around the theme “Connections,” the presentation highlighted the relationships that shape Brazilian furniture production: industry and creativity, raw materials and technology, technical expertise and cultural references, and manufacturing capacity and sustainable development.
Companies representing different segments, regions and stages of international expansion shared the space with designers, creative studios and emerging talent. The result was a broad cross-section of contemporary Brazilian production, with products developed for different markets, distribution channels and applications.
Brazilian exhibitors generate nearly US$95.4 million in business
The Brazilian Brands and Products Exhibition served as the country’s main commercial showcase at Salone del Mobile.Milano. Spread across three areas — the Brazil Pavilion in Hall 3, EuroCucina in Hall 2 and the International Bathroom Exhibition in Hall 10 — the initiative presented Brazilian identity through materials, techniques and products that reflected the range and versatility of furniture designed and manufactured in the country.
The exhibiting companies accounted for the largest share of the commercial results. They generated 2,160 contacts, including 1,423 first-time connections.
Immediate deals reached nearly US$14 million. Business expected over the following 12 months totaled US$81.4 million, bringing the overall result for Brazilian exhibitors to approximately US$95.4 million.
Design + Industry connects creative development with manufacturing capacity
The Design + Industry Showcase presented products developed through collaborations between manufacturers, designers and creative studios participating in the program of the same name. Led by ABIMÓVEL and ApexBrasil, also through the Brazilian Furniture Project, the initiative brings creative and industrial expertise together from the earliest stages of product development.
The program supports the creation of furniture and collections with a distinct identity, manufacturing feasibility and international market potential. It combines elements of Brazilian culture, design, production expertise and material diversity with the technical and commercial requirements of global markets.
At Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026, the showcase generated 912 contacts, including 788 new connections. Immediate business totaled approximately US$1.95 million, while projected business over the following 12 months reached US$10.3 million. The combined result was approximately US$12.3 million.
More than 86% of the contacts generated through the showcase were new. The figure demonstrates the program’s ability to connect Brazilian manufacturers with buyers and industry professionals seeking original products, differentiation and reliable manufacturing expertise.

Trade promotion as a sector competitiveness strategy
The results achieved in Milan reinforce the Brazilian Furniture Project’s role as a platform for trade promotion, market intelligence and the international positioning of Brazil’s furniture industry.
The coordinated work led by ABIMÓVEL and ApexBrasil enables companies with different profiles and levels of export experience to access strategic markets, establish new contacts, strengthen business relationships and advance commercial negotiations.
The figures also reflect a key feature of international trade: business development requires continuity, reputation, adaptability and an ongoing presence in the market. Deals closed during a trade show represent only one part of the process. The 12-month projections capture the importance of the stages that follow, including product evaluation, pricing, technical adjustments, logistics, distribution and contract negotiations.
This work takes place amid intense global competition, supply-chain realignment, geopolitical tensions and growing buyer demand for reliable suppliers. In this environment, Brazil gains ground by presenting itself through a coordinated, technically prepared and market-driven strategy — essential conditions for turning initial contacts into long-term business relationships.
Brazilian Furniture Design Award showcased in Milan
The Brazilian program also included an exhibition featuring winning and recognized pieces from the first edition of the Brazilian Furniture Design Award, an initiative organized by ABIMÓVEL and co-organized by ApexBrasil and Sebrae (Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service).
The exhibition brought projects created by large manufacturers, small producers, woodworking businesses, designers, architects and students from different regions of Brazil to Milan. Together, they demonstrated the range of production scales, creative perspectives and manufacturing approaches found across the country’s furniture industry.
Entries for the award’s second edition are open through July 7, 2026 (only for Brazilian applicants). The winning projects will be exhibited at the Brazil Pavilion during Salone del Mobile.Milano 2027, giving new Brazilian brands and creative professionals a direct pathway to the world’s leading furniture and design circuit.
