Brazilian Furniture Project takes 28 national brands to Index this September
Expanding the horizons of Brazil’s furniture industry, the Saudi capital of Riyadh will host the Brazilian Furniture Project delegation at Index 2025, from September 9 to 11. The event is a leading reference for furniture and interior design in the region.
Led by ABIMÓVEL (Brazilian Furniture Industry Association) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), the Brazilian delegation brings together a significant group of companies across two complementary fronts: six exhibitors showcasing their products on the show floor, and 22 companies joining a trade mission focused on international business matchmaking.
While the exhibitors highlight their portfolios in dedicated project booths — reinforcing the global image of Brazilian design and industry — the trade mission promotes structured business meetings, creating direct connections with distributors, importers, and project specifiers from Saudi Arabia, neighboring countries, and beyond.
This integrated approach strengthens not only immediate commercial opportunities but also long-term relationships, which are particularly critical in more traditional markets.

The Saudi and Middle Eastern Market
The event takes place during a period of strong growth in Saudi Arabia, driven by the Vision 2030 program, which aims to diversify the economy, foster urban development, and boost large-scale investments in infrastructure and construction. This scenario is generating increasing demand for furniture and interior solutions, residential as well as corporate, attracting the attention of global suppliers.
For the Brazilian furniture sector, Index represents a gateway to a market that combines high purchasing power with the need for qualified suppliers capable of meeting the requirements of large-scale projects. It also comes at a time of significant shifts in geopolitics and global trade, where market diversification and the opening of new fronts have become key factors in reducing risks and expanding opportunities.
Between January and July 2025, the “Other Countries” category — which includes emerging destinations in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia — recorded over US$ 120 million in Brazilian exports of finished furniture and mattresses. This figure is 3% higher than the same period in 2024 and already accounts for 27% of the industry’s total exports.
This growth highlights the increasing relevance of these markets and the strategic role of international promotion initiatives led through the Brazilian Furniture Project.
Brazilian Furniture Project
The Brazilian Furniture Project is a joint initiative by ABIMÓVEL and ApexBrasil to expand the international presence of the Brazilian furniture industry through strategic actions focused on sustainability, competitiveness, innovation, and global positioning. Currently, around 175 companies take part in the project.
In its 2025–2026 cycle, the project operates through two complementary verticals. The first focuses on finished furniture, bringing together manufacturers and designers that represent the originality, quality, and identity of Brazilian furniture. The second focuses on industry suppliers, including companies producing components, machinery, inputs, and technologies, positioning Brazil as a comprehensive solutions partner for the global furniture industry — from raw materials to the finished product.
This integrated approach broadens the sector’s global reach, diversifies markets, and strengthens the Brazil brand as a competitive player in the international arena. Companies interested in joining the project can visit brazilianfurniture.org.br.
