Recife is set to host a new edition of the Buyer Project on July 3–4, during the Northeast Furniture Industry Congress
Fostering connections between Brazil’s furniture manufacturers and the international market is a core focus of the Brazilian Furniture Project, led by ABIMÓVEL (Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). Among the project’s flagship initiatives is the Buyer Project, which will hold its next edition in Recife, Pernambuco, alongside CONEMOV 2025.
This edition will feature in-person business matchmaking meetings between 27 Brazilian furniture companies and 10 international buyers from seven strategic target markets across various continents, including South Africa, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The presence of these importers in Brazil’s Northeast highlights the region’s growing competitiveness, driven by its robust production capacity, innovative design, regional identity, and expanding export culture.

“Expanding the global presence of Brazilian furniture also means decentralizing and diversifying the hubs of visibility, production, and international engagement. Bringing the Buyer Project to CONEMOV 2025 is a recognition of the Northeast’s competitive potential and an opportunity to connect global buyers with local realities, fostering long-term and sustainable business partnerships,” says Cândida Cervieri, Executive Director of ABIMÓVEL.
Cervieri will also speak at the congress, joining other leading voices in the Brazilian furniture industry, including ABIMÓVEL President Irineu Munhoz and Vice President Adeilton Pereira.
CONEMOV 2025 Agenda
The congress will offer an extensive program, with lectures and panels covering topics such as strategic sales, people development, innovation management, and digital transformation in the industry.
By joining the CONEMOV program, the Buyer Project becomes part of a broader ecosystem of discussions and initiatives focused on innovation, productivity, workforce development, and market trends. The event will bring together entrepreneurs, specialists, suppliers, retailers, and students across the wood and furniture production chain.
At the same time, the international buyer meetings will add a strong global dimension to the congress, reinforcing the strategic role of Brazilian Furniture in driving exports, promoting Brazilian design, and advancing industrial sustainability.

Brazilian Furniture Project
The Brazilian Furniture Project is a sectoral initiative by ABIMÓVEL in partnership with ApexBrasil. Its goal is to expand the international presence of Brazil’s furniture industry through a strategic set of actions grounded in sustainability, competitiveness, and design integration. Currently, around 175 companies are engaged in the project.
In 2024, Brazil ranked as the sixth-largest furniture and mattress producer in the world and the 26th largest exporter, generating over US$ 763.02 million in revenue from finished products — a 3.8% increase compared to 2023. Including parts for furniture manufacturing, the total reached US$ 870.20 million.
In this new cycle (2025–2026), the organizers invite not only furniture manufacturers and designers, but also suppliers and component producers to join the project, further amplifying the reach of Brazilian furniture and reinforcing the global competitiveness of the “Brazil” brand.
