Brazil strengthens its furniture supply-chain presence at Interzum Bogotá

Fourteen Brazilian manufacturers of components, machinery, equipment and materials generated 497 business contacts and $1.8 million in immediate and projected deals, while expanding ties with international markets—particularly across Latin America and the Caribbean

Raw materials, components, hardware, machinery, equipment and systems form the backbone of furniture manufacturing. Brazil showcased the breadth of this technical, diverse and integrated supply chain at Interzum Bogotá 2026, held May 12–15 in Colombia. The trade show is one of Latin America’s leading platforms for furniture production and wood processing.

Brazil’s participation was organized through the components, machinery and supply-chain segment of the Brazilian Furniture Project, an initiative led by ABIMÓVEL (Brazilian Furniture Industry Association) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

The initiative took 14 Brazilian companies to the exhibition and generated 497 business contacts. Of these, 78% represented new commercial connections for the participating companies. Immediate deals and business expected over the next 12 months totaled more than $1.8 million.

Throughout the four-day event, Brazilian exhibitors presented solutions for different stages of the manufacturing process and engaged directly with manufacturers, buyers, distributors and other professionals from across the global industry.

A technical and commercial hub for industry

The 2026 edition brought together approximately 200 exhibitors from 19 countries across more than 86,000 square feet of exhibition space. Nearly 11,000 industry professionals attended the show, while international companies accounted for 52% of exhibitors.

These figures reinforce Interzum Bogotá’s position as a key meeting point for the furniture, woodworking and industrial manufacturing sectors—not only in Latin America, but also for companies and professionals from North America, Europe and Asia.

The event also featured an academic and technical program with more than 60 content sessions. Panels, presentations and live demonstrations explored materials, production processes, automation, technology, productivity, sustainability and new directions in manufacturing.

For Brazilian companies, the show combined commercial prospecting, technical demonstrations and knowledge exchange. The country’s offering included components and accessories, hardware, motion systems, profiles and finishes, adhesives, machinery, packaging technologies and digital solutions for furniture production management.

Together, these solutions highlighted the diversity of Brazil’s industrial supplier base, with technologies designed to improve product performance, functionality, process organization and manufacturing efficiency. This breadth enables Brazilian companies to serve manufacturers of different sizes, production models and levels of complexity.

Latin America gains ground in Brazil’s commercial strategy

Interzum Bogotá provides direct access to a region defined by geographic proximity, complementary industrial capabilities and growing demand for solutions that can improve efficiency, quality and competitiveness.

Colombia ranks among the leading destinations for Brazilian furniture supply exports in 2026. Argentina, Mexico, Chile and Paraguay are also among the segment’s ten most important markets, underscoring Latin America’s growing role in the Brazilian industry’s commercial strategy.

This shift is taking place in a global environment shaped by geopolitical tensions, high logistics costs and the reconfiguration of supply networks. Against this backdrop, geographic proximity can shorten delivery times, reduce uncertainty and make commercial relationships more predictable.

Regional integration therefore supports more than trade. It also encourages technology exchange, the joint development of solutions and the creation of more responsive supply networks connecting manufacturers, distributors and industrial partners.

Brazilian Furniture heads to São Paulo

ForMóbile 2026, which is now open for registration, will be the Brazilian Furniture project’s next destination. The event will take place June 30–July 3 at São Paulo Expo.

Through the International Buyers Program, ABIMÓVEL and ApexBrasil will organize business matchmaking meetings between Brazilian companies and buyers from approximately 20 countries. The program will include dedicated agendas for both furniture supply-chain companies and finished furniture manufacturers.

The show will also feature a special edition of the Design + Industry Exhibition, presenting a selection of pieces previously showcased at some of the world’s leading design events, including Salone del Mobile.Milano in Italy, ICFF in New York and Brasília Design Week in Brazil’s capital.
