Taking the design and products “made in Brazil” to one of the most important stages in the sector in the world, 50 Brazilian companies specializing in high-end furniture, decorative objects, lighting, ornamental stones, ceramic tiles and handicrafts will be exhibiting their novelties at FuoriSalone 2024, which takes place between April 15 and 28 this year during Milan Design Week in Italy.
Organized by ApexBrasil (The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) with the support of ABIMÓVEL (The Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association), through the Brazilian Furniture Project, the Brazilian exhibition will be held as part of the INTERNI exposition – the main event on the FuoriSalone circuit – at the traditional Università degli Studi di Milano.
INTERNI Cross Vision at FuoriSalone 2024: event celebrates 70 years of INTERNI Magazine
“INTERNI Cross Vision” is the central theme of the special exposition promoted by INTERNI magazine at FuoriSalone 2024, celebrating the publication’s 70th anniversary. “During these seven decades, the magazine has documented and critically analyzed how architecture, design and art contribute significantly to the complexity of a project. INTERNI has always valued Italian design, while also making room for international inspiration, valuing uniqueness and the ability to blend industrial innovation with artisanal traditions, establishing a dialogue between designers and global design trends,” say the organizers.
In this sense, the concept explored this year – “Cross Vision for the future” – seeks to highlight Italian expertise in a constructive dialog with the cultures of other countries, such as Brazil, promoting research, innovation and experimentation, all within the universal principles of sustainability and respect for nature and the environment. “More than ever, this edition will encompass a transversal vision involving different cultures, countries and knowledge, generating intersectional visions and enriching dialogues, which should result in an augmented reality, both in the literal and metaphorical sense,” they add.
Milan Design Week
Consisting of two major events, Milan Design Week presents visitors with the main trends in the furniture and decor sector. One of them is the iSaloni (Salone del Mobile.Milano), the biggest event in the furniture and home sector in the world. The FuoriSalone, a parallel event to the Furniture Fair, comprises multiple shows and exhibitions throughout the city, including the one organized at the Universitá degli Studi di Milano.
In 2023, the Brazilian exhibition at FuoriSalone welcomed 50 pieces of furniture, ceramics, lighting, ornamental stone and handicrafts, which stood out for their innovative design, functionality, and concept, as well as for presenting sustainable solutions in their production. In addition, nine companies took part in the 61st iSaloni through the Brazilian Furniture Project, which brought Brazil’s best to Milan regarding raw materials, techniques, quality, technology and sustainability in the sector.
