Over the course of two days, 246 business meetings were held, involving 27 Brazilian furniture companies and 10 importers
The Buyer Project held during CONEMOV 2025 – Northeast Furniture Industry Congress delivered impactful results, reinforcing both the business generation capacity and international positioning of the Brazilian furniture industry. Promoted by ABIMÓVEL (Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association), in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), the initiative is part of the Brazilian Furniture Project and once again demonstrated its value as a key instrument to strengthen exports and enhance regional and national competitiveness.
Over the course of two days, 246 business meetings were held, involving 27 Brazilian furniture companies and 10 international buyers from strategic markets such as South Africa, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

The initiative generated USD 4.646 million in immediate deals, with an additional USD 30.105 million in expected contracts over the next 12 months — totaling USD 34.751 million in finalized and projected business.
Beyond the comprehensive numbers, the Buyer Project at CONEMOV 2025 facilitated the opening of 215 business contacts, of which 150 were new connections, showcasing the industry’s growing reach and potential in global markets.

According to Cândida Cervieri, Executive Director of ABIMÓVEL, the results reflect the project’s maturity and underscore the importance of decentralizing initiatives to empower different production hubs across the country.
“When we bring the Buyer Project to events like CONEMOV, we recognize the strength and diversity of Brazil’s furniture industry from North to South. It’s a strategy of integration that values regional capacity and expands the sector’s international presence in a structured and sustainable way,” she affirms.
For Cervieri, creating opportunities for targeted, meaningful business encounters is key to building bridges between international buyers and the diverse creative and productive landscapes of Brazilian furniture.
“More than just generating deals, we’re building long-term relationships that support business growth and elevate the image of Brazilian furniture abroad. These efforts are vital to maintaining competitiveness and ensuring our industry’s integration into global value chains,” she adds.
ABIMÓVEL’s Presence in the CONEMOV 2025 Program
In addition to the business matchmaking sessions, CONEMOV 2025 offered a diverse and strategic program. Alongside leading figures from the northeastern and national furniture industries, Irineu Munhoz, President of ABIMÓVEL, took part in the Opening Panel: Industry Leadership, highlighting the association’s role in fostering integration and advancing the Brazilian furniture production chain through cross-regional and cross-market collaboration.
The panel also featured Guilherme Brito, President of Sindmóveis-PE, and Massimo Cadorin, First Vice President of FIEPE and President of the Paper and Paper Products Industry Union of Pernambuco. Together, they emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts between institutions and companies in driving sector-wide growth on both regional and national levels.
On the second day of the congress, Adeilton Pereira, Vice President of ABIMÓVEL, opened the day’s activities with a focus on human capital development. The program continued with the Export Panel, moderated by Carla Botelho, founder of Instituto Moveleiro and director of Universidade Moveleira. The discussion included contributions from Cândida Cervieri, Virginia Sampaio Ribeiro, CEO of Interiores Móveis, and Adeilton Pereira, who presented the internationalization case of Cabanna Móveis, a company from Paraíba.
Together, the speakers demonstrated that companies of all sizes can access global markets with the right structure and strategic support — drawing on sector data and real-life success stories from both Brazil and the Northeast region. Within this context, the Buyer Project, led by ABIMÓVEL and ApexBrasil through the Brazilian Furniture initiative, was once again recognized as an effective and accessible pathway to global integration.
CONEMOV 2025 thus positioned itself as a benchmark event for the Brazilian furniture industry — with in-depth discussions on strategic sales, innovation, digital transformation, workforce development, and international competitiveness — reinforcing the role of the Northeast and Brazil as a whole in contributing to the country’s sustainable economic development.
Brazilian Furniture Project
The Brazilian Furniture Project is a sectoral initiative by ABIMÓVEL in partnership with ApexBrasil. Its goal is to expand the international presence of Brazil’s furniture industry through a strategic set of actions grounded in sustainability, competitiveness, and design integration. Currently, around 175 companies are engaged in the project.
In 2024, Brazil ranked as the sixth-largest furniture and mattress producer in the world and the 26th largest exporter, generating over US$ 763.02 million in revenue from finished products — a 3.8% increase compared to 2023. Including parts for furniture manufacturing, the total reached US$ 870.20 million.
In this new cycle (2025–2026), the organizers invite not only furniture manufacturers and designers, but also suppliers and component producers to join the project, further amplifying the reach of Brazilian furniture and reinforcing the global competitiveness of the “Brazil” brand.
