Brazilian Industry Generates USD 4.5 Million in Business at Fitecma 2025 in Argentina

With the support of ABIMÓVEL and ApexBrasil, Brazilian suppliers in the furniture production chain took part in the first international initiative of the new Brazilian Furniture vertical

In the first international initiative of the new Brazilian Furniture Project vertical focused on expanding the global presence of Brazil’s components, machinery, and suppliers for the furniture production chain, Brazilian companies took part in Fitecma 2025 (International Wood and Technology Fair), held from June 10 to 14 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The initiative was promoted by ABIMÓVEL (Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

The Brazilian participation, supported by the Brazilian Furniture Project, featured an exclusive booth that attracted highly qualified visitors, including buyers and key authorities such as the Brazilian Ambassador to Argentina, Julio Glinternick Bitelli, Leonardo Valverde, Head of the Commercial Promotion Sector of the Brazilian Embassy, and Osvaldo Kovalchuk, President of Fitecma. The action focused on market expansion and presenting integrated solutions, while strengthening ties with buyers from Mercosur and across Latin America, thereby positioning Brazil as a comprehensive and reliable supplier to the wood-furniture sector.

Brazilian Exhibitors at Fitecma 2025:

New Connections and Business Prospects

Throughout the event, Brazilian companies secured 358 business contacts, 301 of which (84%) were new connections, highlighting the prospecting potential of the initiative. In this first action, immediate business deals totaled USD 281,000, with an additional USD 4.205 million projected over the next 12 months. The total business expectation generated at Fitecma 2025 amounts to USD 4.486 million.

Fitecma 2025: A High-Value Business Platform

Recognized as the leading wood and technology trade fair in Argentina and one of the most significant events in South America, Fitecma 2025 attracted 35,000 visitors and 250 exhibitors from different countries across the region. The fair has solidified its position as an international business hub, drawing buyers, importers, furniture manufacturers, architects, engineers, and distributors from across Latin America.

“Participating in Fitecma was an important step for the Brazilian furniture industry to further establish its capacity and leadership as the largest furniture producer in Latin America. This is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Brazil’s global presence, not only as a supplier of finished furniture but also as a key player in machinery, components, and technology. We continue to expand the systemic vision of the Brazilian Furniture Project and, as a result, our industry as a whole — increasingly connecting the different links of our national production chain to the global market,” says Irineu Munhoz, President of ABIMÓVEL.

Brazilian Furniture Hosts Technical Seminar at the Brazilian Embassy in Buenos Aires

In addition to the trade fair, ABIMÓVEL and ApexBrasil hosted the technical seminar “Argentina in Focus: Market Insights and Opportunities for Exporters” at the Brazilian Embassy in Buenos Aires. The seminar provided Brazilian entrepreneurs with in-depth analysis of Argentina’s economic landscape, the specific dynamics of the local market, and key customs regulations for exporters.

Speakers included Leonardo Valverde, head of the Commercial Promotion Sector at the Brazilian Embassy in Buenos Aires, international trade lawyer Sofía López, and María Cáceres, Director of Cotia Comex S.A., who shared valuable market data and practical insights on opportunities and challenges for bilateral trade.

Ongoing Expansion and New Markets

The next edition of Fitecma is already confirmed for 2027 and remains a key event on the radar of Brazilian companies. Fitecma 2025 marked the beginning of a series of upcoming international actions under the new vertical of the Brazilian Furniture Project in the global market.

Coming up next, Brazilian manufacturers, component suppliers, machinery producers, and other industry stakeholders will participate in international business matchmaking rounds at the Fimma 2025 Buyer Project. Fimma (International Fair for Suppliers to the Wood and Furniture Production Chain) will take place from August 4 to 7 in Bento Gonçalves, Brazil.

Brazilian Furniture Project

The Brazilian Furniture Project is a sectoral initiative by ABIMÓVEL in partnership with ApexBrasil. Its goal is to expand the international presence of Brazil’s furniture industry through a strategic set of actions grounded in sustainability, competitiveness, and design integration. Currently, around 175 companies are engaged in the project.

In 2024, Brazil ranked as the sixth-largest furniture and mattress producer in the world and the 26th largest exporter, generating over US$ 763.02 million in revenue from finished products — a 3.8% increase compared to 2023. Including parts for furniture manufacturing, the total reached US$ 870.20 million.

In this new cycle (2025–2026), the organizers invite not only furniture manufacturers and designers, but also suppliers and component producers to join the project, further amplifying the reach of Brazilian furniture and reinforcing the global competitiveness of the “Brazil” brand.
