On July 3–4, 2025, the Recife Expo Center in Pernambuco will host CONEMOV 2025 – The Northeast Furniture Industry Congress, one of the leading events in Brazil’s furniture sector. This year’s edition focuses on sales strategies, workforce development, and competitive evolution. The event features the participation of key industry figures, including members of the board of ABIMÓVEL (Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association), which is also behind one of the congress’s strategic highlights: the Buyer Project, held under the Brazilian Furniture umbrella in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
Under the theme “Evolving to Compete,” CONEMOV 2025 offers a deep dive into current trends, business solutions, and management practices tailored to the wood and furniture production chain. The two-day program includes keynote talks, panel discussions, and business matchmaking sessions, bringing together manufacturers, executives, suppliers, retailers, and students to foster knowledge exchange, expand networks, and boost sector performance in both domestic and global markets.
Among the featured speakers are Irineu Munhoz, president of ABIMÓVEL, Cândida Cervieri, executive director, and Adeilton Pereira, vice-president. Their presentations will explore topics such as innovation, industrial transformation, commercial strategy, professional training, and opportunities for expanding the global reach of the Brazilian furniture industry.

“CONEMOV is a key space for knowledge exchange, competitiveness, and collaboration across the value chain. By taking part in the program and organizing the Buyer Project, ABIMÓVEL reaffirms its commitment to advancing the development of Brazil’s furniture industry,” says Irineu Munhoz, president of the association.
Buyer Project Broadens the International Reach of the Event
As an official part of the CONEMOV agenda, the Buyer Project will run alongside the congress, facilitating in-person B2B meetings between 27 Brazilian companies and 10 international buyers from seven strategic markets: South Africa, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
The initiative is part of the Brazilian Furniture Project, led by ABIMÓVEL and ApexBrasil, and represents another strategic step toward the internationalization of the Brazilian furniture industry across all regions of the country.
“Bringing the Buyer Project to CONEMOV acknowledges the Northeast’s competitive potential and expands the international scope of the event. We are connecting different regional realities around common goals: creating value, fostering sustainable agreements, and strengthening the global presence of Brazilian design and production,” adds Munhoz.
Content and Connections to Drive Business Growth
The first day of the congress (July 3) will focus on strategic sales, addressing shifts in consumer behavior, growing competition, and the need to master targeted commercial techniques to protect margins and enter new markets.
The second day (July 4) will highlight people development, emphasizing talent management, continuous training, and the creation of work environments that encourage innovation and productivity.
By combining high-level content with real business opportunities, CONEMOV 2025 positions itself as a reference forum for Brazil’s furniture sector while also serving as a strategic platform to boost the Northeast’s industrial relevance and integration into global value chains.

Brazilian Furniture Project
The Brazilian Furniture Project is a sectoral initiative by ABIMÓVEL in partnership with ApexBrasil. Its goal is to expand the international presence of Brazil’s furniture industry through a strategic set of actions grounded in sustainability, competitiveness, and design integration. Currently, around 175 companies are engaged in the project.
In 2024, Brazil ranked as the sixth-largest furniture and mattress producer in the world and the 26th largest exporter, generating over US$ 763.02 million in revenue from finished products — a 3.8% increase compared to 2023. Including parts for furniture manufacturing, the total reached US$ 870.20 million.
In this new cycle (2025–2026), the organizers invite not only furniture manufacturers and designers, but also suppliers and component producers to join the project, further amplifying the reach of Brazilian furniture and reinforcing the global competitiveness of the “Brazil” brand.
