Buyer Project at Yes Móvel Show SP Export 2025 Generates US$ 52 Million in Prospected Business

Held on March 24 and 25, during Yes Móvel Show São Paulo Export 2025, the latest edition of the Buyer Project once again confirmed its strategic importance for Brazil’s furniture sector. The initiative—promoted by ABIMÓVEL (Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency)—organized 602 business-matchmaking rounds between 57 Brazilian manufacturers and 20 international buyers from 16 countries.

The markets represented were Angola, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, the United States, Guatemala, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay.

The immediate outcome was US$ 14 million in contracts signed during the event. Forecasts for the next 12 months point to a further US$ 38 million, bringing the event’s total business potential to US$ 52 million.

In addition to the agreements concluded, the meeting sparked new avenues of international cooperation. A total of 521 business contacts were recorded—347 of them newly established relationships. According to the organizers, this high share of new contacts highlights the expanding global presence of Brazilian brands across continents and the sector’s ability to open fresh markets.

“This edition’s performance shows that Brazilian furniture is increasingly recognized for its quality, innovation, and delivery capability. Beyond immediate deals, we are building solid commercial bridges and expanding our industry’s global reach in a sustainable and lasting way,” said Irineu Munhoz, president of ABIMÓVEL.

The Buyer Project is part of the Brazilian Furniture Project, which works to foster the internationalization of the national furniture industry. The next matchmaking rounds are already set for July 3–4, 2025, as part of the program of the 5th CONEMOV (Northeast Furniture Congress) in Recife, Pernambuco.

Brazilian Furniture Project

The Brazilian Furniture Sector Project is an ABIMÓVEL initiative in partnership with ApexBrasil. Its goal is to increase the participation of Brazil’s furniture industry and supply chain in international markets through a set of strategic actions based on the pillars of sustainability, competitiveness, and design integrated with industry. Roughly 175 companies currently take part.

In 2024, Brazil’s furniture and mattress industry was the sixth-largest producer and the 26th-largest exporter in the world, achieving more than US$ 763.02 million in exports of finished products (excluding parts and components), a 3.8 percent increase over 2023. When furniture parts are included, the figure reaches US$ 870.20 million.

In the new 2025-2026 cycle, the organizers invite not only furniture manufacturers and designers but also component makers and other industry suppliers to join the project, further extending the reach of Brazilian furniture and strengthening the “Brazil” brand’s global competitiveness.
