The Movelsul 2025 Buyer Project has successfully facilitated deals exceeding $53,089,000.00, equivalent to over R$ 305.2 million, stemming from 635 business rounds. This event brought together 66 Brazilian industries and 20 international buyers from 11 different countries, showcasing the global demand for Brazilian furniture. Organized on February 17 and 18 during the fair, this initiative was a collaboration between ABIMÓVEL (Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), under the Brazilian Furniture Project.
The project attracted a diverse group of importers from Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay, Peru, the United Kingdom, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay. These buyers engaged directly with manufacturers from various regions of Brazil, resulting in 802 contacts over the event, 77.4% of which were new connections.
The immediate transactions registered totaled $7.67 million (R$ 44.1 million), with prospects for the next 12 months projected at $45.42 million (R$ 261.16 million). These figures underscore the importance of exports as a strategic avenue for the growth and competitiveness of the Brazilian furniture industry.
Irineu Munhoz, President of ABIMÓVEL, commented on the event’s success, noting, “These figures reaffirm the alignment between the Brazilian furniture industry and international market demands. The business rounds facilitated not only immediate agreements but also the strategic planning of future commercial relationships.” He emphasized the role of design, innovation, and sustainability in fostering opportunities across the entire furniture industry chain.
The Buyer Project is a critical component of the strategic action calendar of the Brazilian Furniture Project, aimed at promoting the internationalization of Brazilian furniture, components, and suppliers. The next event is scheduled for March 24 and 25, 2025, at the Yes Móvel Show São Paulo Export. Both ABIMÓVEL and ApexBrasil expressed gratitude towards all participants for their contributions to the project’s success, which continues to enhance the commercial ties and global reputation of the Brazilian furniture industry.

Brazilian Furniture Project
The Brazilian Furniture Project is an initiative led by ABIMÓVEL in partnership with ApexBrasil, aiming to increase the participation of the Brazilian furniture industry in the international market through a set of strategic actions based on sustainability, competitiveness, and integrated design. Currently, around 175 companies participate in the project.
In 2024, the Brazilian furniture and mattress industry was the sixth-largest producer and the 26th-largest exporter in the world, reaching revenue of over USD 763.02 million in exported finished products (excluding parts and components), representing an increase of 3.8% compared to 2023. When including parts for furniture manufacturing, the total amount reached USD 870.20 million.
In a new cycle (2025-2026), the organizing entities invite furniture manufacturers and designers and other components and suppliers companies to join the project, further expanding the reach of Brazilian furniture and strengthening the “Brazil” brand’s competitiveness worldwide.
