26 Brazilian furniture companies participate in business rounds with international buyers under the organization of ABIMÓVEL and ApexBrasil
It’s off to the races! The NY Trade Mission begins today, the first activity in the Brazilian Furniture Project’s calendar during the New York Design Week 2023, in the United States. Organized by ABIMÓVEL (The Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association) and ApexBrasil (The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), the project also takes several Brazilian furniture brands and designers to the ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair), highlighting their products and solutions in the largest showcase of the sector in North America.
Aiming to foster partnerships between Brazilian companies and international buyers from the project’s target markets, the Trade Mission is supported by the General Consulate of Brazil in NY, where the business rounds will be held this year, being strategically organized between May 18 and 19, before the official opening of ICFF (May 21-23).
Therefore, creating a display to show that Brazil is not only connected with all the main trends in the world but also presents unique styles, techniques, and materials, emphasizing sustainability and design integrated into the industry as competitive differentials in the global market.
In 2023, 26 Brazilian companies participate in business rounds with qualified international buyers from countries such as the United States, Canada, Mexico, and other important markets in Central and South America.
Last year, the NY Trade Mission resulted in 305 business rounds and 760 professional contacts. With this, more than US$ 47.8 million in business was prospected.
“The results of the Trade Missions are significant to the promotion and the effort of the Brazilian companies to expand their operations abroad, one of the main goals of the Brazilian Furniture Project, a partnership between ABIMÓVEL and ApexBrasil, which has been positioning the industry and the national furniture sector in an increasingly more relevant way in the global market”, says the executive director of ABIMÓVEL, Cândida Cervieri.
With even more industries participating in the mission this year, the business and networking expectations are quite positive and prove to be strategic for the country’s industry.
