The Brazilian furniture companies and design are getting more and more recognition around the world! Exhibiting at ICFF – The International Contemporary Furniture Fair (November 14 to 15) as part of the Brazilian Furniture Project agenda in New York (USA), Ornare and Uultis were highlighted during the ICFF Editors Awards 2021, taking the first places in the “Booth” and “Seating” categories, respectively.
The ICFF Editors Awards are one of the most important awards in the design industry worldwide, being judged by important media professionals, who visit the fair spaces and deliberate to determine the best of the best among the approximately 300 exhibiting brands from ICFF and WantedDesign Manhattan.
In doing so, the award aims to recognize the most innovative in terms of brands, professionals, solutions and products related to design and contemporary living in 12 categories: body of work, new designer, furniture, seating, carpet and flooring, lighting, outdoor furniture, materials, wallcovering, accessories, kitchen and bath and booth.
Ornare was the winner of the “Booth” category, presenting the best exhibiting area of the whole fair. Standing out for the “set of work”, in a space that brought some of the main solutions of the brand to the national and international market. The pieces drew attention for their originality and sophistication, with special focus on the materials, finishes and the luxurious versatility applied to the design. Among them is the Kitchen Shaker Line, signed by Ricardo Bello Dias and Studio Ornare under the supervision of Murillo Schattan, who also won the “best kitchen” category at ICFF / WantedDesign by the IFDA – International Furnishings and Design Association; in addition to the Little Luxury line, that was also highlighted in the special edition of Salone del Mobile.Milano, which took place last September.
Uultis, the Herval Group’s premium furniture brand, was recognized at the ICFF Editor Awards for its uniquely designed seats composed with noble materials, combining the best of technology with handmade techniques. Among the products exhibited at the ICFF and which attracted the attention of both judges and the media and international buyers is the Wave Chaise, signed by Larissa Batista, which has already stood out in numerous exhibitions and fairs in the furniture field around the world, due to its charm and authorial design, which invites you to rest and contemplate. To complete their portfolio, the company also presented a selection of armchairs that have been receiving great prominence in the national and international market, such as the Velo, Mince, Fane and Busto armchairs, among others.
Both Ornare and Uultis, as well as the winners of the other categories, were also finalists for the “Best in Show” award and will be recognized during the awards ceremony at the ICFF.

About the Brazilian Furniture Project agenda in New York this year:
ABIMÓVEL – The Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association has been operating for over three decades with the commitment to defend and strengthen the furniture sector and the Brazilian industry. In partnership with Apex-Brasil – The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, they lead the Brazilian Furniture Project, aiming to promote the competitiveness of Brazilian furniture and design in the international market through strategic actions, such as trade missions and the participation in major events in the sector.
This year, with the support of the General Consulate of Brazil in New York, in the United States, the entities organized the participation of three Brazilian companies associated with the project at ICFF, the most important event in the contemporary furniture field in North America. They are: Ornare, Uultis and Tidelli.
In addition to the fair, the entities were also responsible for holding the “Espaço Brasil in NY”, an exclusive exhibition that occupied an area of 200 m² in SoHo, a famous New York design district. A success among the press, specifiers and North American buyers, the event brought together more than 40 pieces from 20 Brazilian brands and several designers linked to Brasil Design + Indústria, an Integrated Industry Design Program that makes up the scope of the project.
Proof of this success is that all the products exhibited there were sold out and many others were also negotiated through business roundtables between Brazilian companies and buyers from the United States and Canada, as well as other countries in North and Central America, further strengthening the relationship between the Brazilian furniture businesses and these important target markets for the Brazilian Furniture Project.
