1 month to go: Brazilian Furniture takes 21 brands to High Point Market 2023 in the USA

The countdown to High Point Market – Fall 2023 Edition has begun! The event, held in the city of High Point, in the United States, takes place between October 14-18, bringing together brands and designers from the furniture sector from different parts of the world, being one of the main gateways to the North American market. And, of course, 21 Brazilian companies are already preparing their novelties to present during the Trade Mission organized by the Brazilian Furniture Project.

Promoted by ABIMÓVEL (The Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association) in partnership with ApexBrasil (The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), Brazil’s participation in the High Point Market – which has a unique structure, with events, activities and exhibitions spread across buildings and showrooms in the 13 blocks of the downtown Market District – is yet another opportunity for Brazilian companies to strengthen their relationships or even gain access to new business partners, whether from the United States or other regions, with the fair traditionally attracting thousands of visitors from more than 100 countries.

In all, the 21 companies taking part in the High Point Market 2023 Trade Mission will have the chance to strengthen networking and negotiate directly with qualified international buyers through face-to-face business rounds strategically organized by the Brazilian Furniture team.

In addition, 10 of them will also be exhibiting their brands and products during the fair, in exclusive booths to highlight the technical and visual differentials of Brazilian furniture, produced using techniques, raw materials, styles, and unique processes that make the Brazilian furniture industry a benchmark in quality, sustainability, creativity and design.

In 2021, faced with all the challenges generated by the Covid-19 pandemic, which paralyzed production chains around the world, in an important collective effort between ABIMÓVEL, ApexBrasil, and Brazilian companies associated with the Brazilian Furniture Project, 11 national brands physically exhibited at the event and other four participated in business rounds in a hybrid format (online and in person). Between the two modalities, the mission made it possible for Brazilian companies to make 124 contacts in meetings with international buyers from countries such as the United States, Mexico, Canada, Colombia and Peru, totaling approximately US$ 5.08 million in business from the fair.

Now, back to the traditional format of the event, with more participating companies and 100% physical events, expectations for this edition are even better!

It’s worth remembering that the United States is the main importer of Brazilian furniture. It was the destination for 31.7% of all products exported by the sector in the first half of 2023. During this period, more than 1.78 million pieces were exported to the country, resulting in business worth US$110.6 million

Data projected by IEMI exclusively for ABIMÓVEL and ApexBrasil also shows that the region has an additional growth potential of more than 18% over the next three to five years.
